About Us

With over 37 years of experience as a chef in hotels and restaurants throughout the Lake District, Lynn had always dreamed of producing, preparing, and cooking dishes using ingredients sourced from local suppliers, her own garden and orchard, and the gardens of family and friends.

That dream became a reality in 2012 with the launch of Lynn Hilditch Catering. The business offers bespoke catering services for dinner parties, small weddings, family dining, holiday cottage dining, and “dine at home” menus. All meals are freshly prepared in Lynn’s 5-star rated home kitchen.

Lynn works closely with trusted, award-winning local suppliers, including:

  • Award Winning Low Howgill Butchers, Appleby
  • Cranstons Butchers Penrith – known for their award-winning chipolata sausages
  • Abbots Lodge Jersey Farm for Jersey milk and cream
  • The Fish Cellar, Penrith for fresh fish
  • St James Smokehouse in Dumfries
  • Stonehouse Smokery near Carlisle

By combining decades of culinary experience with the finest locally sourced ingredients, Lynn creates high-quality, seasonal dishes tailored to each client’s needs.

Lynn also provides a dinner service  to guests of the renowned Rowley Estates: ‘We highly recommend Lynn Hilditch’s catering which is focused on ‘home cooked’ Cumbrian meals using produce raised her garden and local specialities. Lynn’s cooking and friendly approach deservedly gets lots of positive feedback from our guests.’
